Landscape Photographer of the Year Visits Ripon

Ripon City Photographic Society is delighted to announce the visit of the 2014 Landscape Photographer of the Year, Mark Littlejohn. He won the 2014 Take a View’s Landscape Photographer of the Year award to make him the premier landscape photographer in the UK last year.
Mark, a professional photographer who is based on the edge of the English Lake District, describes himself as a rapidly ageing Scotsman who came to photography quite late in life. He is self-taught and says he prefers to photograph the little view as opposed to the grand one. Mood and atmosphere are key for him. He does not go out with any preconceived ideas, as he would far rather have a free wander, both mentally and physically. He has been featured in a variety of regional and national magazines and has started to write the ‘odd wee column here and there’.

Mark will be at The Arches, Holy Trinity Church, Kirkby Road, Ripon, HG4 2EY, on Monday 30th November. The venue is accessible to all and the event starts at 7.30pm and is free for members, £3 for visitors, all welcome. Refreshments will be available from 7.15pm and again during the interval.
