Open moorland with wide-open spaces and big skies.
There’s more info on walking the area here.

Direction
Heading out of Kirkby Malzeard towards Pateley Bridge, take the first turning on the right, Kirkby Moor Road (signposted “Dallowgill 3”).
Follow the road until you get to a junction with a turning on the right, where the road doubles back on itself.
There’s a parking area a little way up this road, on the right. If you follow the road until the tarmac ends, there’s some more parking here.
When to go
Great at all times, but best when heather is out (late summer: July through August). Large open skies, great sunsets and low-angle light all bring out the texture of the heather.
Hints
At the second parking spot there’s a small bridge; you can follow the beck from here down to a little waterfall.
