As you head for Pateley Bridge, it’s on the right – just before you get to Brimham Rocks.
Direction
Head for Pately Bridge on the B6265, using postcode HG4 3HA.
There’s limited parking on the roadside past the farmhouse a few yards down on the left; the trail starts on the right, through a wood just waiting to be photographed.
When to go
Wonderful in autumn, but a walk along the lakeside can be muddy and there are a couple of trees to climb over/under, but it’s worth it in the early morning to get the mist.

Take a picnic – and be aware that there are no ‘facilities’!
