Remembering Tim Nichols

Tim Nichols, a true stalwart of the Ripon City Photographic Society, sadly passed away in his 93rd year in December 2025. Alongside his wife Jackie, Tim was a keen and active member, always present to lend a hand—whether it was setting up the Annual Photographic Exhibition or carefully storing display boards for the Society.

At the remarkable age of ninety, Tim was honoured with Life Membership, a testament to his enduring commitment and the respect he earned within the Society.

His skill as a photographer was matched only by his philosophy: to capture the perfect image in camera, preferring the artistry of the moment over hours spent at a computer. Many of his landscape photographs won prestigious places in competitions, reflecting both his talent and his passion for the craft.

Above all, Tim will be remembered as a gentleman — well-liked, well-respected, and deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him. His dedication and warmth touched all those around him. His legacy lives on in the Society and in the hearts of those who shared in his love for photography and community.

Thank you Tim for setting us such a shining example, both as a wonderful person and an amazing photographer.
